REFIT 2015 to 2018

SEAQUIL went through a major refit over a 4 year period from 2015 to 2018 at the White Knight Yachts facility in Anacortes, WA. This same facility helped build the Oracle trimaran that was successful in winning the 2010 Americas Cup.

The refit included the following:

All deck hardware was removed. The top layer of glass laminate, as well as the balsa coring, was removed. A closed cell foam core was added, covered with a carbon/e-glass laminate and epoxy resin. All of the above was then vacuum bagged. The deck was then painted with a two tone non-skid.

All wiring and plumbing was removed and replaced with new.

New Yanmar engine (new 2017).

Northern Lights generator was rebuilt.

New watermaker, electronics and sails.

The cabin floors were refinished.

The galley was refurbished with new fridge, freezer, Corian counter tops and sink.

All lighting was replaced with LED.

New bow thruster.

New headliners.

New mattresses and cushions.

New Edson steering system.

New autopilot with oversized hydraulic ram.

Most of the through hull fittings were new.

New engine exhaust.

New standing rigging.

New electric Harken winches.

New paint on the hull, deck, mast and boom.

New hard carbon fiber dodger was fitted.

HULL

Solid fiberglass hull.

Epoxy barrier coat (2015).

White painted hull (Alexseal 2018).

Cast iron keel encapsulated in fiberglass molded to the hull.

Full skeg rudder.

Packing gland at hull for rudder.

4” stainless steel rudder post.

Rudder quadrant accessed in lazarette.

Teak rub rail with stainless steel striker bar.

Numerous hull opening ports immediately above the rub rail, port and starboard.

Built in, sugar scoop type, swim platform in transom.

DECK

Closed cell foam cored glass fiber deck.

In 2015 the top layer of glass fiber and the balsa coring was removed from the deck. Closed cell foam core was added followed by a carbon/E-glass top laminate using epoxy resin that was then vacuum bagged.Top surface was then painted with two tone non-skid.

Stainless steel stem head fitting with single bow roller and capacity for a second roller.

Stainless steel bow rail with bails for idle halyards.

Stainless steel stern rail with gate, stainless steel ladder to swim platform and secondary swim ladder.

Stainless steel stanchions with 1 x 19, stainless steel, double lifelines.

1 x pair mooring cleats forward, 2 x pair mid-ships and 1 x pair aft.

All mooring cleats have covered fairleads.

Quick anchor windlass with chain gypsy and rode winch.

Electric up and down foot switches for windlass.

2 x fixed windows in deck combing.

Stainless steel “granny bars” at mast partners.

Staysail sheeting tracks on coachroof.

Mainsheet track behind cockpit with 4:1 traveler adjuster and cleats.

Genoa tracks on side decks.

Aluminum toe rails.

2 x double turning blocks on deck for headsail sheets.

Large lazarette locker aft, accessed via deck hatch.

Hard fixed dodger over companionway.

Propane locker aft port deck.

2 x outboard brackets on stern rail.

Stainless steel davit for dinghy with electric winch to raise and lower dinghy.

2 x gang Lewmar line stopper forward of main halyard winch.

ACCOMMODATIONS

GENERAL ARRANGEMENT

Sleeps a total of 7 in 4 sleeping cabins. 3 sleeping cabins forward for 5 and 1 cabin aft for 2. 2 heads. Herreshoff type interior with lots of white paneling highlighted with varnished teak trim, doors and locker fronts. Teak and holly cabin sole. Vinyl overhead paneling. 

FORWARD CABIN

Located in the bow. "V" berth. Overhead lockers port and starboard. Lockers and drawers under the bunks. Stainless steel wash basin aft to starboard with hot and cold water.

FORWARD STARBOARD CABIN

Located in the walk way to the forward cabin from the saloon. Large lockers and drawers with single bunk over. 

FORWARD PORT CABIN

Located opposite the starboard cabin. Offset double bed outboard over generous storage and drawers. Overhead lockers forward.

FORWARD HEAD

Ensuite head aft of port forward cabin with access from the port and starboard cabins. Tecma electric head. Stainless steel sink with hot and cold water.

MAIN SALOON

Located up one step and aft of the forward cabins. "L" settee to port surrounding a dining table. Straight settee to starboard with coffee table. Shelving and opening ports in the hull outboard each side. 

NAVIGATION STATION

Located aft of the saloon on the port side. Forward facing chart table. Surrounded with navigation and communication electronics as well as the electrical panels. Door aft to engine and generator space. An additional door from the engine space accesses the master cabin stall shower and head.

GALLEY

Located aft of the saloon on the starboard side. Walk through access to master cabin aft. Vitrifrigo side loading fridge and top loading freezer driven via AC and DC power. Force 10 stove with oven. GE microwave oven. Single sink with hot and cold water. Corian counter tops with marbling finish. Ample lockers and drawers. Exhaust fan.

MASTER CABIN

Located in the stern. Centerline queen bed. Ample storage all around. 

MASTER CABIN HEAD

Located forward and to port of the master cabin with walk through access via the stall shower to the engine space. Sink with hot and cold water. Electric head (2023).

ENGINE ROOM  SPACE

Full standing headroom with easy access to the main engine and generator.

ENGINE

Yanmar 4JH 110, 110hp @ 3200rpm, 767 hours as of June 2021, engine new 2017.

Engine panel forward and port in cockpit.

Fresh water cooled.

Dual fuel filters.

Single oil filter.

ZF 30M transmission with 2.69:1 gear ratio.

3 x blade, 24” MaxProp.

Morse single lever engine control at wheel pedestal.

2 x 75 gallon stainless steel fuel tanks for a total of 150 gallons.

PLUMBING AND VENTILATION

The majority of the plumbing was replaced in the 2015 refit.

1 x Quick 40liter, hot water tank heated via 110volt and engine.

Sea RO 30gph water maker (pickled and needs a high pressure pump).
