Hudson Yacht Marine, Morrelli & Melvin, and HH Catamarans are pleased to present the HH55. In keeping with our high level of luxury and performance, this yacht is an all carbon affair. Rig, hulls, and structures all enjoy the superior safety, strength, and weight saving properties that only carbon can offer. Like it’s HH66 big brother, the HH55 has the curved “C” daggerboards and T Foil rudders, giving greater performance and a smoother ride in the waves. This is a very fast boat that is truly ocean ready.
Great Design Drives Everything We Do – Especially What We Don’t
Selecting Morrelli & Melvin to be our naval architects was an easy decision. After all, who’s better qualified than the designers of the America’s Cup 72 for 2013 America’s Cup contenders Emirates Team New Zealand, Oracle/BMW’s monster trimaran and 2010 America’s Cup winner and the 1988 America’s Cup winner Stars and Stripes catamaran.
With world-class cruising cats successfully lapping the globe, scores of racing victories and an immense knowledge of cutting edge catamaran technology, sea keeping, high performance and safety, Morrell & Melvin were the obvious choice.
Morrell & Melvin design engineers are frequently deployed on site to help manage the transfer of design and engineering information to the construction teams. This consistent onsite collaboration resolves the myriad of small decisions quickly and efficiently. Keeping MM on the shop floor adds an extra level of quality control as well as exploiting the best ideas that always pop up during the build process. All MM team members get their hands dirty!
Pete Melvin and MM design engineers spent two years in New Zealand for the build up to the 2013 America’s Cup challenge. Gino Morrelli and MM team members have been on site in China and South Africa overseeing new production and custom builds for many years.
