This model of the Jeanneau 53 has the master forward and two cabins aft each with their own ensuite heads/showers. The Alpi teak paneling, light oak sole and dark leather upholstery give the interior a very rich look.
The nav station and control panels are to the starboard of the companionway while the galley is to port. Storage under the sole is easily accessed via gas shock hinge floor panels. And electric deluxe dinette with 2 extra chairs allow seating for 8. The captain's chairs to port have a hidden storage and arm rest in the center.
Forward there is a full skipper cabin with facilities and ducted for A/C.
The cabin environment are maintained by 3 CruiseAire reverse cycle A/C units totaling 40K BTU.
The heads are all electric flush either by sea water or fresh water.
For entertainment there are 4 Samsung TV. A 40" in the salon, 22" in the master, and a 19" in each aft cabin.
The L-shaped galley to port is large enough for preparing meals but small enough to be out of the way. And safe underyway. There is a large 3 burner Eno propane stove with a overhead vent-a-hood exhaust. The large fridge has both top and front opening with a separate freezer adjacent. The double sink and countertop are all in white Corian.
Lots of drawers and cubbies provide storage along with under-floor dry storage via gas assisted panels.
Accesses under the companionway stairs, the engine is a reliable Yanmar 4JH4-HTE Turbo 100 hp pushing a 3 blade feathering Max Prop on a straight shaft drive. The owner opted for the additional fuel tank providing a total of 126 gallons.
To compensate for the reduced water capacity du to the extra fuel, there is a water desalination system installed. The Dessalator Duo D60 system operates on AC or DC voltages through the use of two separate motors. This unique design guarantees fresh water any time whether underway or at anchor.
To assist in maneuvering, there is a powerful Quick bow thruster with controls at the port helm.
Besides the normal 110V/50A shower power connection for electricity at the dock, there is an additional 7.5 KW diesel generator located under the transom steps in the cockpit for use underway or at anchor.
The Yanmar provides 12V battery generation with a upgraded 125A alternator.
In addition, for interior 110V use while under way there is a 3KW inverter to run the entertainment options and charge the electronic toys.
The navigation and electronics include a grouping of Raymarine displays both at the helm and the nav station.
At the helm are 2 Raymarine ST-70, the Raymarine ST60 Autopilot (with a remote control), and the Raymarine E120W chartplotter. At the nav station is an additional ST-70 multi-display and a Raymarine C120 plotter. These are connected to a Raymarine 4KW radar on the mast. And the plotter/radar displays are connected to the large TV in the salon.
For communication, there is a Ray55 VHF at the nav station with AIS capability. And a Raymarine RAM MIC remote VHF at the helm.
The owner also added a KVH V3 mini sat phone and internet antenna on a transom mounted mast.
An upgraded Fusion Stereo with 6 Fusion interior speakers in addition to the factory installed BOSE speakers and cockpit speakers provide the entertainment.
Sails And Rigging
The sailing rig on Zuma is the standard in-mast furling mainsail with a large 135% overlapping genoa. To help with the trim and sail control the owner added the electric genoa furler (with helm control) and all Harken 2 -speed electric winches in the cockpit.
In addition there is a Mylar/Aramid light air Code 0 on a continuous line furler.
Cockpit And Deck
The oversized cockpit provides plenty of room for entertaining guests, just lounging around, and/or serious sailing. A full bimini and dodger with a removable connector provide shade and protection from the weather. And full cockpit cushions with back rests provide comfort.
The decks, seats, transom steps and cockpit floor are all teak.
The ground tackle is made up of a large 55 lb Delta anchor on 250' of chain rode. A secondary Fortress anchor with chain/rope rode provide the stern anchor.
The Quick electric windlass has wired hand remote in the anchor locker and a separate windlass control and chain counter at the helm.
