Designed to eat up the miles shorthanded, fast, safely and in utmost comfort, the B n teau 57 is the fruit of all the experience gathered by B n teau and Farr Yacht Design, a pair of winners. For a perfect control of the sail plan whatever the conditions, the running rigging is led back to the central cockpit, protected by a solid hood. As for the high quality equipment from the most renowned manufacturers, it has been chosen to offer long range and self reliability: generator, electric manoeuvre winch, standard bow thruster... An exceptional Yacht for demanding sailors with blue water cruising in mind.
Upon entering the salon down the companionway, you immediately see the luxury of the Beneteau cherry wood with leather upholstery. The dinette is to port and the comfortable settee and cocktail table are starboard. The galley is tucked away on the port side while the access to the aft cabin, crew cabin and engine space are to the starboard. Forward are two matching Pullman queen berths and ensuite heads with standup showers.
Aft down the access is a day head, the crew bunk cabin, the electrical panels, engine access door and entry to the master cabin.
The master is huge with a queen centerline berth, lots of closet and drawers, and port lights. A large ensuite head and separate shower completes the idea of a perfect cabin for the owner.
There are 4 separate Air Conditioning systems for the three cabins and salon.
The galley is located in a perfect alcove along the port side. Included in the features are a 4 burner Eno stove and oven, GE microwave built-in above the counter, a large Frigaboat SS fridge and freezer with a separate fridge in the counter. A Haier dish washer completes the amenities. Around the galley are many cubbies and drawers for galley ware, pantry and cleaning supplies.
Accessible from the passageway door or behind the companion way stairs is the reliable 160 HP Yanmar 4LHA-HTP diesel engine with a straight shaft drive and dripless stuffing box. The engine is only showing 1000 hours on the Hobbs meter or an average of only an average of 83 hours per year! She hardly looks broken in. The access to filters, belts, and pumps is provided through the large engine space.
The electronics are simple but functional allowing for the buyer to use as is or upgrade with the latest technology. The helm is equipped with a Raymarine E120 plotter and GPS, with complimentary Raymarine ST-60 Wind and Graphic displays and a relatively new ST-70 autopilot display. The MaxPower bowthruster controls, a separate windlass control, and the electric furler control make the helm a central command station.
In addition the Lewmar Commander helm wheel design makes using the electronics a breeze with no wheel spokes to get in the way!
The salon nav station is equipped with the Raymarine E80 plotter and a ST-60 Multi display. Communication is via a Icom IC-M402 VHF. Also at the station is a Clarion Stereo with CD player.
The electrical suite consists of a single 110V/50A shore power cord for dockage power but also a large capacity Onan 7kw diesel generator for power away from the dock. The hour meter on the genset show 1425 currently. Two very complete breaker panels control all of the 110V and 12V operations in a central location along the breezeway.
Levity has a blue gelcoat hull and teak decks. The swim platform is unique as it is hidden with a aft deck panel until needed making the look clean but still very large and functional. The center cockpit has easy access is large enough for crew to sail or to just entertain.
The ground tackle is a powerful Rocna 25 (55 lb) anchor on all chain rode managed by a large Lofrans 1500 windlass with dual controls at locker and the helm. A Bruce secondary anchor with a chain/roipe rode is locate in the aft deck locker.
Just aft of the anchor locker is a huge sail locker with ladder access. Three huge deck lockers and the propane locker (with a large 20 lb tank) are located on the aft deck.
Four beautiful Dorade vents supply air to the cabins and panache to the look.
There is a hard dodger with opening windows and a relatively new bimini. Cockpit cushions with canvas covers for the helm, electronics and table complete the package.
Sails And Rigging
The rig is a large keel stepped, 3 spreader SparCraft rig painted white with almost new North Sail in-mast furling mainsail and a North Sail genoa on an electric furler forward. A virtually new furling Code 0 light air genoa is included.
The sails are controlled by dual Harken 66 electric 2 speed self tailing primary winches and 2 Harken 46 electric 2 speed whinches for the mainsail furling and sheet.
