The Saffier 6.50 Cruise is to a state-of-the- art modern daysailer while still keeping those beautiful classic hull lines intact.

DENNIS HENNEVANGER ON THE NEW SC 6.50 CRUISE:

We took our time to design her. The old 6.50 has quite a legacy in Holland as being a very seaworthy boat and we certainly wanted to keep that intact.

The hull is one aspect of her seaworthiness and keeping the righting moment the same was important. With the new keel shape, and these days being able to put the center of gravity much lower in the keel, we ended up with 20% less weight in the keel with an even better righting moment.

Along with the new rudder and new rig she has much more performance, especially going upwind. The rig has a large mainsail and a self-tacking jib. Furthermore she can easily be fitted out with a furling code zero sail. This provides a very effective way of getting more sail area downwind or on a reach and the handling is as simple as a furling jib.

With the new deck and cockpit there is much more space and the seating is much more comfortable; she is also very easy for one person to control and sail alone sitting at the helm, which is a real benefit.

What I particularly like are the small, almost hidden details, such as integrated cup holders and boxes to store your halyards and control lines.
Inside there is also considerable improvement. A lot of space has been created and access is very easy. The design will appeal to a broad range of people who are looking for a simple-to-sail open yacht, with beautiful lines and all the comfort and performance you expect from a modern daysailer.

engine, but also the sheets and halyards of the sails are all in reach of the helmsmen who can stay safe in the cockpit while trimming and adjusting the sails. The self-tacking jib makes tacking or gybing a maneuver which the Helmsmen can decide when to perform without asking his crew to move around in the cockpit. The Saffier Sc 10m is easy to handle by the helmsmen alone. All sheets , halyards, reefinglines and trimlines are lead underdeck to the winch (Harken) consols which can be operated electrically*. The standard steeringwheel has a 1 to 1 link so that the Sc 10m feels direct and you can steer her with your fingertips

EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL

The unique position of the helmsman at the front of the cockpit is one of the key-features in the Saffier Lounge concept. At the back of the cabin the helmsman has a cockpit of his own. Here he is able to oversee the complete boat and has access to all the lines to trim and control the sails. Sailing the Saffier SE 37 Lounge is childs play, but it has nothing to do with the potential of this boat. Upwind the boat will get to hull speed in the blink of an eye. Downwind the bowsprit makes it possible to sail a huge Code 0 or gennaker of over 100 m². With those sails the Saffier SE 37 Lounge will reach speeds far above its hull speed – a sensational experience!

ALL THE SPACE YOU NEED

By putting the wheels in front of the cockpit, the cockpit itself is enormous and completely free of lines. In fact, the old fashioned name ‘cockpit’ does not suit this spacious feature on the Saffier SE 37 Lounge. It has become a real lounge place. Fitted out with comfortable seats and luxury cushions where your family and friends can enjoy sailing the best way possible.

Not only while sailing this is a great place to be. At anchor or in the harbour it is easily converted into a real terrace on the water. Again: with just one button. A push on the button lifts the integrated cockpit table out of the floor. A huge table, where at least ten people can have a seat.

ALL THE COMFORT YOU NEED

On board the Saffier SE 37 Lounge there is no real border between ‘outside’ and ‘inside’. Thanks to the wide cabin entrance and a minimal level difference the transition between outside and inside is completely fluid and natural. Because of the application of carbon a main bulkhead is unnecessary. Therefore the inside of the cabin is completely open and light.

Inside you find all the comfort you need. There is a little coffee corner, a galley, the head, luxury seats, headroom and a huge double bed in the front. And, last but not least, there is a lot of storage space. At anchor or in the harbor it is easily converted into a real terrace on the water. A push on the button lifts the integrated cockpit table out of the floor. A huge table, where at least ten people can have a seat.

THE SAFFIER SE 33: STYLE. SPEED. SAFFIER

The Saffier Se 33 is designed as a seaworthy daysailer with extraordinary sailing potential in combination with a luxury feel of sailing. A powerfull rigg, fast underwater hull in combination with a moderen T bulp keel, a fixed bowsprit for a code zero and vacuum building technics make the Saffier Se 33 a light and fast daysailer while sailing in total comfort.

PURE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND LOVE FOR SAILING

The Saffier Se 33 can be sailed totaly by the helmsmen alone.The mainsail, self-tacking jib, code- zero or genaker and all sheet and halyards which run underdeck can be operated at the winchconsols while staying behind the helm. All lines can be operated manually or with electrical winch. The cockpit which gives room for 10 persons is made that the aft deck can be used as a sunbathing platform and the half open transom makes easy acces to the water. The port and starboard benches are 2 m long and offers lots of space while sailing or relaxing in harbour or at anchor.

CONFORT

What is remarkable about the Saffier Se 33 is the integrated sprayhood which offers extra comfort on the colder days and and can be used as a shade when temperatures are up. Underdeck offers enough space for 4 persons to sleep. There is a cooking facility with running water and fridge, room for a toilet and lockers for storage.

The all new Saffier Se 23 ft is designed for those whom enjoy quality, harmonic lines and great sailing performance. The ideal small Yacht to enjoy a nice day of sailing with friends or family, but also to finish with results while racing around the cans.

A FEAST FOR THE EYE

The Saffier Se 23 ft is a modern build, small daysailer with beautiful harmonic lines with classical influences. The modern underwater hull has low displacement and the combination with a state of the art rig will give her striking performances while looking graceful on the water.

CUT TROUGH WAVES

With her narrow entry bow the Saffier Se 23 ft cuts easily through choppy waves while maintaining her speed. A lot of thought has been given to the hull lines transcending from the modern bow to the classic stern. Under 10 % heel she will use her full water length sailing up wind and perform above her polarities. Downwind this daysailer will match her polarities up to 15 knots of wind.

EASILY SAILED BY ONE PERSON

The Saffier Se 23 ft can easily be sailed by one person. The helmsman has the tiller, mainsheet and the sheet of the self tacking jib right at their hands. Central behind the coach roof there are 2 winches easy accessible to hoist the mainsails and unfurl the jib The furling system of the jib is placed underneath deck. All lines can be stowed away in the sides of the cockpit ensuring a rope free cockpit floor. All lines run underneath the roof or the deck. A genaker can be set on a genaker pole. For the more performance orientated sailors a( optional) light genua (non self tacking) and spinnaker can be set.
