I have been boating for as long as I can remember. From the age of six, my sister and I would borrow ladders in the boatyard and climb all over people’s boats while my parents prepped our boat for the season. Since 2005, I’ve been working as a yacht broker and have actually had permission to climb aboard boats to show my clients. I still enjoy checking out boats as much as I did as a kid.I have been teaching sailing since age 16, and delivering boats of all makes and models between NY and ME since age 18. After Maine Maritime Academy, I spent three years working as a sailing instructor and freelance charter captain in the US and British Virgin Islands – running both monohulls and catamarans up to 60 ft in length. I have sailed down to the Virgin Islands every winter since. In 1998, the VP of US Sailing asked me to start my first sailing school in Greenwich, CT, and in 2008, I founded Black Rock Sailing School in Boston, MA, where I still work to this day.
During the first fifteen years of my sailing life, you’d find me racing & coaching anything from dinghies to custom 44 – 50 ft Frers, from beer can races to offshore sailing teams. Since 2010, I have been focused solely on developing my cruising skills aboard cruising monohulls and catamarans, with seasonal migrations between New England and the Bahamas, and New England and the Caribbean, via Bermuda each year.
As a broker, I will provide unbiased input on a wide range of makes and models, based on decades of sailing these brands in a wide range of conditions and locations. I am in a unique position to help you find and purchase the perfect boat for your needs, and provide world class instruction aboard your own vessel after delivery. It will be a pleasure to serve you!
