Little Harbor Motor Yachts
The Little Harbor Yacht company began in the 1990’s under the leadership a the 1974 America’s Cup winner Ted Hood. As an experienced seaman, Ted also had an interest in seeing his own boat designs come to the market. Little river opened its door in Rhode Island, where the Ted Hood Marine Complex was also located. After a period of time, Ted transferred Little Harbor operations to a location in Taiwan. During this transition, Little Harbor emerged as a leader in the manufacturing of power boats which led to the acquisition of Little Harbor by Hinckley Yachts.
As a result of Hinckley acquisition, Little Harbor continues to operate as a boat brokerage, managed by Hinckley. With operations centers in Florida and Rhode Island, the company brokers the sale of new and used classic Little Harbor designs, including Nightshadow, Dervish, Carmella, and Integrity. Most of the designs produced by Little Harbor under the management of Hood fall between 45 and 100 feet long. This range of size has made Little Harbor competitive in the arena of both charter and private watercraft. A used Little Harbor yacht may begin in the neighborhood of $600,000.
Little Harbor built a beautiful range of power boats for many year beginning with tradition prop driven boats to the jet drive Whisper Jet range of motor yachts. All were superbly crafted and are sought after by yacht enthusiasts.
