ABOUT BALTIC YACHTS
Baltic Yachts began with five young men that wanted to make superior watercraft that would become better than the competition. They had the idea that if you create a lighter displacement it will increase performance. Teaming with some of the local Bosund region talents, they set off to develop their own product and not to simply compete with others. They wanted to have something that the others did not and that is exactly what they did. In 1973, they formed Baltic and began production of the Baltic 46, which was well received by the public. From 1973 – 1974, they were busy building not only their new model, but they also had to develop and build the facility for making the yachts. The oil crisis of 1973 didn’t help their business or any others for that matter. They stayed strong and worked diligently on producing the Baltic 33 in 1975. That year they also constructed their very first one-off custom yacht and she was named “Tina I-Punkt”. Baltic delivered many yachts that same year, 15 yachts in 1975 and 28 yachts in 1976. Marking one of the milestones was the purchase of Baltic Yachts in 1977 by a large ship builder from Finland, Hollming Ltd. They opened their own USA sales office and when times looked bad for Hollming, they eventually took back the business along with a group of boat builders.
